Philip brings a proven, 20-year global track record in the Performance, Casual, Action Sports and Outdoor industry to Martens & Heads. A builder of organizations, categories and brand concepts and a driver of innovation, he has held or led roles in regional and global product & brand management, general management, product creation, and merchandising across Europe, Asia and North America. His global brand and industry background not only helped him cultivate a very extensive industry network, he intimately understands what it takes to hire the right talent and breed world-class teams within the realm of specific brand and leadership cultures.
After early posts in sales and marketing, Philip joined NIKE Europe in 1992. Initially working in Operations, he soon moved to Product Marketing, where he held various roles in Product Creation and Merchandising across the leadership pipeline in both Performance and Sportswear/Lifestyle Footwear, Apparel, Equipment and Accessories. His geographical areas of responsibility have included both centre-led and sub-regional leadership roles for markets in Western, Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia - Pacific. After NIKE, Philip acted as Vice President of Global Product for VF/ The North Face, based out of the Bay Area.
Originally Dutch, Philip is a graduate from Nyenrode University, Netherlands (BBA) and the University of Oregon (MBA), having majored in General Business Administration, International Marketing and Finance. Philip and his family currently live in Portland, Oregon.
